Guys – these were so good. Even the sous chefs devoured them. I literally ate them standing at the kitchen counter. Whoops. Make them. Tonight. I had just enough Marinara sauce to do nothing with except throw it away or add a smidge to something. I was making cheese stuffed burgers so added it for extra flavor. It did not disappoint. Delish.

Recipe
- 1lb hamburger
- 1/4 cup marinara
- 1/4 cup chopped herbs – basil, oregano and thyme
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tbs Italian seasoning
- 3 fresh low moisture mozzarella slices cut in half (should have 6 smaller pieces)
Preheat your grill to medium/high heat.
Combine all ingredients except mozzarella and mix well. Let sit for 20 minutes.
Divide mixture into 4 1/4lb patties – form into a ball and depress the middle, add 2 mozzarella slices and close the ball.
Flatten ball into a burger patty, and grill for 8 minutes or until sides are golden and burger doesn’t stick. Flip and grill for 6 minutes or until patty is cooked through.
Plate up with a bun, fresh spinach, sliced tomatoes and a dipping sauce of Marinara!
Bon Appetit!
